Attended arts sessions are held in Brentor Village Hall in Devon near Tavistock. I am happy to give my time for free so all donations (after the costs of hiring the hall, heating and refreshments for participants) go to the British heart Foundation
I have always been fascinated by drawing (particularly) and over the years have developed a particular style, which is very much suited to illustration projects. I really enjoy the challenge of observational drawing and wanted to share my creative insights and experience with others.
My own style has been developed over the years but the catalyst for my work has come from a wonderful illustrator Tom Barwick and his introduction to making and using bamboo pens. Which he sells
This, and an introduction to a myriad of printmaking processes which I have developed and used in a particularly individual way my thanks here to Dr. Laura Rosser who gave me space to experiment (and make a lot of mess). I love to combine my ink drawings and my monotype printmaking digitally to produce unique illustrations, which, in turn influence other aspects of my arts practice.
I have run freelance workshops supporting minority groups, alongside outreach provision for .gov bodies, and in schools to support those who may benefit from kinaesthetic approaches to learning. Delivering these in whole class workshops was a productive period in my life and led to structured learning delivery in a studio setting here in Devon.
With a change in focus and now working for the British Heart Foundation I find the space in my life for sharing and supporting creativity with others very rewarding and so have decided to combine my passion for the arts and raising funds.
